The first impressed “WOOD;” the second with impressed factory mark, printed factory and title mark in underglaze-blue. Diameters 10 ⅛ and 9 ⅛ inches.Both views are thought to be commemorative of the beginning of the laying of track for the Baltimore and Ohio railroad on July 4, 1828.
