The bonnet with sarcophagus top above an astragal glazed door, opening to a white-painted enamel dial with script lettering “I.A. Hutchins, Concord” surrounded by roman numerals and painted floral motifs, above a waisted case with a rounded arch long door, on a plinth base ending in ogee bracket feet. Height with finials 92 ½ inches.
Provenance: Afixed to the inside of the backboard is a printed label “Aaron Austin of East Concord.” Aaron Austin, was a Republican who kept a tavern which was occupied by New Hampshire militia men in 1812. See History of Concord, N.H. by James O. Lyford, 1902, pp. 331-332.
