Watercolor on paper, 9 ½ x 7 ½ inches, sight. Signed "J. Stauffer" and dated June 9th 1830, the clock inscribed "Jacob Eby/ Manheim/ 1830." Leah Ryder (1817-1907) lived in Franklin County, Pennsylvania; Eby (1776-1835) was a well-known clockmaker from Lancaster County.
