Hollow-cut silhouette with watercolor and ink on paper, 3 ¾ x 2 ⅞ inches. Inscribed on the backboard “Nancy Draper,” “Gordon” on a label and the frame “Sumner Bridges born 1813/ Nancy Draper 1813.” In a period gilt frame, 5 x 4 inches. According to genealogical sources, Nancy Draper (1813-1854) married Sumner Bridges (1813-1887) on October 30, 1834. Their daughter, Anna, married Albert A. Gordon in 1861.
