The exterior sides finely painted after original prints by James Seymour and depicting the two stages of the hunt ‘going out’ and ‘in full cry,’ alternating with cartouches depicting Chinese figures resting and hunting below iron-red landscape panels, all on an iron-red, black and gilt ‘Y’-patterned ground, and on the interior with a huntsman and hounds roundel, the inner rim surrounded by a wide border of lingzhi and dragon mask panels reserved on a dense rouge-de-fer ground of flowers and vinery edged with scrolling leaves. Diameter 12 ⅜ inches.
