The “Southampton,” 1,288 tons, was built at Damariscotta, Maine in 1851. Oil on canvas, 24 x 36 inches. No signature visible. The reverse with remnants of a printed label for “B.B. Powell/ Artists’ Colourman… / 21 Old Hay-Market/ Bottom of Manchester Street,/ Liverpool.”
