The “Vernon,” a 50-gun frigate built at Woolwich in 1832, enjoyed a long career. She last served as a training ship at Portsmouth until 1923. Watercolor on paper, 13 ½ x 16 inches. Identified and dated on the legend below the image. Frame 19 ½ x 21 ½ inches.
